Optimized connection offers based on a time-of-use and seasonal profile

RTE, the French transmission system operator, facilitates the connection of storage projects in grid-constrained areas using two operating profiles, ensuring that existing grid constraints are not exacerbated:

▪ Solar profile: no operation restriction, except for a daily ban on injecting power between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from March to October (2,000 hours/year).

▪ Urban profile: no operation restriction, except for a ban on withdrawing power during peak periods—specifically between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.—from November through March (1,500 hours/year).

These profiles follow a schedule based on time of day and season.

In both cases, RTE notifies the customer two days in advance when grid conditions (weather, consumption, and/or generation levels) allow the easing of injection or withdrawal restrictions.

In October 2025, RTE identified approximately 1,000 MW of capacity across 14 substations eligible for an injection connection profile. All of this capacity is located in areas eligible for the injection-withdrawal tariff component introduced in TURPE 7 (the French grid-use tariff).
